Salvador, Morro de São Paulo, Chapada Diamantina
Lots of things have happened since last the last post. Vikki and I went to Salvador, but spent only one day there before heading for the bounty island Morro de São Paulo. Once we got to know the island, it was actually very cool. The absolute highlight was a big mudbath on one of the beaches. Jumping rolling around in mud, jumping into it and throwing it at other people was simply a childhood dream come true; :-) Yesterday we went back to Salvador and took a night bus from there to Lençois, which is in the national park Chapada Diamantina. This seems to be an amazing place, and unlike Morro and Salvador, the number of other tourists is fairly moderate. Tomorrow I'll go with three other people and a guide on a three day hike in the national park. There is a huge (200 m. high) waterfall and we'll be cooking on open fire and sleep in caves! I have some photos, ready for upload, but there is only one computer with a USB jack in Lençois, so maybe I won't get them up today.
