Teresopolis, Salvador, Rocinha, Copenhagen
Yesterday, Louse left for Copenhagen. From the airport in Salvador, she emailed me this article. It's about the drug war in Rio's biggest favela, Rocinha (which I visited on my favela tour). Apparently, several people were killed. Actually I heard the fireworks yesterday that the guards at the favelas fire when the police comes to the favelas. Today I'm going somewhere much more peaceful - the mountain town Teresopolis just outside of Rio. Tomorrow, I´ll go with my American frien Vikki to Salvador, the historical captial of Brazil and the centre of the Afro-Brazilian culture. Exciting!
