Finally a crisis
Today, I went for a 27 km. run with Mads Peter and Johannes. Everything went fine until about 24 km., then Johannes just started to run faster - while I had to slow down a bit.
For the first time during training this year, I was really, really tired. Until now, the other guys have been those who have been trying to keep up with me.
I think my problem is, that I so far haven't taken myself to the max, which means that my body hasn't gotten used to burning fat instead of glycogen.
It was good to try the crisis, both physically and mentally, I think. I will now approach the marathon with more respect.
We ran a good time, though. 2 hours 20 minutes, which translates into 3 hours 30 for the marathon. If I can keep it under four hours, though, I will be very satisfied.
The only thing that bothers me is, that my left knee is hurting again. Not during the run, but when it gets cold afterwards. I don't think it will be a problem at the race, and in the weeks after, I will give it a good rest.

Hooray, a fellow geek
Yesterday, German girl Julia moved in to my dorm. We quickly found out that we had been living five minutes walk from each other in Berlin. Better than that: she is also an eager Mac user. She has a PowerBook G4 and an iPod, so I had a hard time stop drooling.
I think she's the first real girl-geek that I've met. Anyway, it's nice finally to know someone who shares this interest.
